All I want for Christmas is…12.14.05

PRINCE!
I want a NPG music club membership - it’s a one-time $25 fee.
If I don’t get it, I’m buying it for myself - so many perks!

Also something that I am in dire need of (I swear) is the Aeon Flux box set.
I say the cartoon Aeon trumps Charlize Theron’s Aeon any day.
mmm… Aeon Flux….

I think this should be a music, clothes, and books holiday.
I’ve got some of the music/books covered on my Amazon wishlist, which I desperately need to update (to find mine, just search my firstname lastname or plug in my Yahoo! e-mail address) .

As far a clothes?
Gift certificates would be awesome, but most likely I’ll be buying them for myself after the holidays.

I love giving gifts, too.
So holler if you need anything!

RENT12.03.05

I love the movie, I love the blog (complete with video clips).
No, I have NEVER *gasp shame shame cry gasp faint* seen the live musical.

You know why?
Because I grew up acting and doing a heck of a lot of musical theatre. When I hit 16 (when RENT premiered on Broadway), I started going to a school that didn’t have musical theatre or musicals.
I became a “serious actor” (hah) and wasn’t into musicals.
Plus, RENT had a lot of buzz and I (unfortunately, in this case) tend to avoid things that are the latest craze.
So there. Don’t get all elitist on my ass, kids.

Speaking of elitist, check out this “usericon” that I found on livejournal.

Give me a break!

I love the movie, have seen it twice and laughed and cried like the big softy I am both times.
I am in way too much love with Jesse L. Martin (look at him, he’s so cute, mmm kiss) at this point in time.
I love the Collins-Angel relationship, everything about it.
I love seeing Jesse L. Martin smile (and hearing him sing).

It’s crush city up in here.
Population: Me.

I’m glad the movie exists to expose the musical to a wider audience.
I’m so glad that the majority of the original cast signed on to do the movie.
And, to anyone else who calls the movie cheesy - It’s a MUSICAL.
It’s supposed to be cheesy.
You want real cheese - rent “Singin’ in the Rain” or “The Sound of Music” and shut yer yap!

Oh Judy!11.20.05

Saturday Night Live has a new “featured player.”
Kristin Wiig.
She (so far), is compeltely hilarious.

I was watching the show with my mom last night and we just couldn’t figure out who was doing the hilarious Judy Garland impression (during a very well-written and executed Vincent Price bit) and who later had done quite the job with Felicity Huffman.
It was Kristin Wiig!

Naturally, the NBC SNL site hasn’t been updated in ages and the jt dot org SNL site has. Thank goodness! Now I know.
(I missed the intro.)
Kristin also appeared last week during the “soaking wet serial kiler” bit.

Save Arrested Development!11.16.05

(the show, not the band - there’s no saving them)

Rumor has it that Best Buy will have Seasons 1 and 2 for sale for $15 each very soon.
I can’t wait!

Sick and wrong.11.15.05

I think I’m in love.
With Tom Green’s blog.
What’s that you say?
Yes, it’s mind-numbingly good.

He posts long, monotonous video clips.
He’s a jackass with a heart of gold - AND - he posted his phone number on his blog - what’s not to love?

Non-Sequitur10.28.05

Why was I not informed that Halloween is a “gay high holiday.”
Seriously.
I mean, shouldn’t I already know these things?
It makes sense, what with the dressing up, sin and debauchery - but still.
I was not informed!

Oh no he didn’t!10.05.05

Frankie J has released a cover version of Extreme’s “More than words.”
(click the link above, then click on ENTER to hear it)
Oh hell to the naw!

The original song (you can listen to a snippet of it here), was not a good song!
The only thing it’s good for is cheesing out in your car on long road trips, singing along at the top of your lungs while blasting “Monster Ballads.”
That’s it!
It did not need to be re-made!
In fact, the cover sounds wimpier than the original, which I honestly never thought possible.
Way to suck it up, Frankie J, way to be.

In other news, Everyone’s Favorite Virgin (soon to be Mrs. Cruise) is pregnant.
Sluts!
Immaculate conception, anyone?

Even better - here’s their “If They Mated” shots from Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
before - after
Now I know what the baby’s going to look like!

For British Eyes Only!09.26.05

Hot damn, Arrested Development IS the best show you’re not watching!
For my money, I’d say it’s the best show (sit com) on network t.v.

I am watching it now, and it’s hilarious!
I caught an episode here and there in the last two seasons - and now I’m hooked

It took a bit to get into the story and characters, but the comedy is just too great to miss!
It also took me a while to realize that my-comedic-boyfriend David Cross was on the show.

Not to discount Bateman one bit, who was on t.v. with Sandy Duncan back in the day, who graced the pages of Tiger Beat and Bop which I often read as a pre-teen on long car trips.
Yum.

Best part of the show?
One of the “Brits” told Bateman’s character that he’d have to “drop 20 pounds” to get that kind of information and I yelled out, “Hey! He’s not fat.”
Pounds.
I’m slow.
POUNDS.

Anyway, watch it!
I hope this show doesn’t go off the air any time soon.
If it does, it will be sorely missed!

Also, Charlize Theron’s guest spot?
I really hope she’s playing a fake Brit because her accent came and went far too often throughout the episode (and she didn’t have that many lines).

Also, on next week’s episode — Scott Baio!
Playing Bob Loblaw.
oh, blahblahblah.

Good thing - I would never pay to see INXS live if they picked scary Marty.

Hooray for hot-as-all-Hades J.D.!

He’s a 31 year old Canadian vegetarian and former Elvis impersonator - and on top of all that, he recently quit smoking!
Who could ask for anything more?!

Listen to his stuff.
Oh, it’s good
(he’s also an amazing performer - you can watch clips of him performing live here)
