It’s hard out here for a blogger

Posted in MN, identity/self on Jun 08, 2007

Ok, not really. It’s quite simple.

The strggle comes when my personal and professional lives collide.
Truth be told, I’m in the same profession as Leab*, generally speaking.
*Sidenote: I really hope he posts more this summer - I understand life got busy with a new kid and work, but boy howdy do I miss his blog.

I get summers (mostly) off, starting today (whee!), and have struggled with just how much of my personal life I want accessible on the web. That’s why I choose not to put my name on this site. I don’t want to be googleable by my firstname lastname and have people who only know me professionally begin to know me more personally than I would be comfortable with. Perhaps I should say - “It’s hard out here for a teacher?” Perhaps not. :)

Long story short I would like to begin (have begun?) writing for or at least contributing to a blog local to my community, but to maintain the journalistic integrity of said blog my firstname lastname must be used on there. If y’all are as smart as I think you are, I’d bet you can figure it out (aka find me on the other site) without having that blog directly link back to this blog, as my full name is used there. I also hope you, dear reader, can understand why I choose not to reveal “too much” (aka my full name) on this blog. Many of you know it already (friends, family) and if you don’t know, it’s probably because there’s no reason for you to know, and you couldn’t care less.

Be well and have a fantastic summer - hope to see you around - don’t be surprised if I become a blogging fiend over the next 2 1/2 months, inbetween vacations, time with friends/family, and a whole heckuva lot of the outdoors.
