Two Things
1) Roommate hunting is a lot like blind dating.
It’s awful!
Luckily, I met a nice one today - though I have a strong feeling she’s not going to take the place (she loved it and we got along well - I just don’t think she’ll take it). Very blind date-y. Without the romance. Oh… wait… there is no romance in blind dating.
2) Channel 4 has been promoting a special on kids getting caught on escalators all week. It aired tonight. Every time I see/hear the commercial I burst out laughing - “That kid is BACK on the escalator again!”
Jason Lee, I love you.
Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don’t hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent - I don’t care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator!

When I was little my parents would take me to Maplewood mall. Being from a small town, I was amazed by and obsessed with, the escalators. My dad would watch me ride up and down while my mom shopped. I managed to never get hurt, thank you very much.

when i was 14, i tripped running up a down escalator in rosedale mall (it was the dang sandals i swear). my right knee smashed into the edge of one of the steps and it left one heck of a scar. i might need to tell the whole story on my page sometime…
