Tracy + The Plastics

Posted in music on Mar 10, 2006

Last night, I broke my “no going out on a school night” rule and headed on over to the 7th St. Entry to check out a Homocore show that featured Gay Beast, Ear Candy, and Tracy + The Plastics.

I arrived after Gay Beast’s performance (still haven’t seen ‘em live) and caught Ear Candy (cheesy delicious fun) as well as Tracy + The Plastics.

First things first, Ear Candy is hilarious, frivolous, mindless entertainment, which is good.

Tracy + The Plastics is hilarious, amusing, intelligent entertainment, which is great.
I saw Tracy + The Plastics back in 2000 or 2001 - I can’t remember which. It was at this place in Dinkytown that used to have music performances but has since become a coffee shop or restaurant (on 14th St.).
Any-hoo, she wowed me back then.
Last night was fun and kept me on the tips of my toes (no edge of the seat here - standing room only).

She was just as good last night, but her performance was far too short and ended with a whimper. Tracy + The Plastics are done for now - I wonder what Wynne Greenwood will be up to next.
When did it become ok for headliners to perform twenty minute sets?
